Brenner Eisenbahn GmbH - Contract Section H8 Jenbach, Austria

Contract section H8 Jenbach is part of the rail improvement project currently under construction in the Tyrolean Unterinntal. In this section, the motorway and the railway station of Jenbach are crossed with a two-track rail tunnel which is constructed using a Tunnel-Boring-Machine (TBM). The groundwater table is located only slightly below ground surface in this area. Thus, substantial geotechnical measures are required for excavation of the TBM start shaft and the adjacent ramp buildings.

INSITU Geotechnik ZT GmbH was contracted by the bidding consortium, managed by Alpine – Mayreder Bau GmbH, as a geotechnical consultant for the design of the excavation pit support.
