The new Semmering Base Tunnel is one of the key projects in the expansion and upgrading of Austria’s southern railway. The twin-tube, 27.3-km-long tunnel will connect Gloggnitz (in Lower Austria) and Mürzzuschlag (in Styria). The new Semmering Base Tunnel is also a part of the Baltic-Adriatic railway corridor.

INSITU Geotechnics is providing soil mechanical and geotechnical consulting and planning services for the tunnel in Fröschnitzgraben (SBT2.1), as well as for access roads, the disposal site in Longsgraben (SBT2.3) and the tunnel in Grautschenhof (SBT3.1).
